3788 Scale Probr Iron Light Cruiser (CL) MGL

The Omega Octant is east of the Alpha Octant empires seen in the Star Fleet Universe (beyond the Inter-Stellar Concordium), on the other side of a galactic void. That void is a dead zone where life is impossible and ships fall apart, marking a separation between Octants.  The Probr are a species of salamander-like amphibians that were the product of a genetic engineering experiment by another species known only as THEM. The Probr revolted, killing all of THEM. The Probr Revolution stayed out of the First Great War, but joined the fray during the Maesron Collapse to become one of the Four Superpowers. Probr ships are built from a combination of one of more of the "basic hulls" and various wings are added on. The ships are armed with quantum phasers, plasma-like HEAT torpedoes, and target accentuators.

The Probr Iron Light Cruiser was built through the relatively straightforward expedient of combining a single destroyer-sized central hull with a pair of medium-sized wings. In principle, this configuration should have allowed the Probr to maintain a relatively large cruiser force by replacing the wings on Bronze Destroyers. In practice, the pressures of wartime construction led to a greater emphasis on building destroyers (which could use smaller, and cheaper, wings) and Steel Heavy Cruisers (which could more effectively make use of the medium-sized wings), making the light cruiser less widespread in service than it might have otherwise been.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
