Hensoldt Wetzlar Dialyt 3x Rifle Scope Wheel Base
I designed this wheel base as part of a scope wheel set to fit into a 7/8” (OD) Hensoldt Wetzlar Dialyt 3x scope body replica that I offer on my page as part of a kit. The wheel was modeled using a resin cast of a Hensold Wetzlar Dialyt 3X Sniper Rifle Scope. Measurements were taken using a precision caliper, a jeweler’s loupe and gauge rulers. The external dimensions and details are to my understanding correct. Modifications to the internal structure were made to make a prop with moveable parts. This wheel base goes on top of the Weaver Scope with all the rest of the parts on top of it. The wheel base holes serve as a template for drilling and tapping the holes for the screws and center disc post that will set it in place.
If it is printed on black strong and flexible, I recommend lightly sand the bottom of the base with 600 grit sandpaper on top of the scope tube. This is to smooth the surface and make it match the exact curvature of your scope body. To make the screws fit thru the holes smoothly they must be carefully hand drilled to clean the diameter of the holes. The center hole for the Center Disc post must be also cleaned with a drill bit to make them fit smoothly and avoid the jamming or breaking of the post due to friction force. The center disc controls the force needed to rotate the upper wheel. if it’s too tight and pressed down the wheel will hardly rotate.
Successful tests were done on Black Strong and Flexible and Black Hi-Def Acrylate.
