3D printed in matte translucent plastic that showcases fine and intricate details.
These delightful earrings depict copepods, tiny crustaceans found in saltwater and freshwater environments. Depending on the species, they can be planktonic (floating in the water) or benthic (living in the sea bed). While some copepod mothers lay their eggs directly into the water, others carry them in a sac on their tails. My design is inspired by the order Cyclopoida, named because they have only a single large eye like the Greek giant cyclops. The earring pair consists of one male and one female copepod.
Earrings do not ship from Shapeways with hooks. You will need to purchase and attach hooks yourself. The earring measures 2 cm below the loop and each earring weighs approximately 5.1bg.
