Reminiscent of Victorian filigree, this unique Designer iPhone SE / 5s / 5 case is a durable, stylish and more eco friendly alternative to mass produced cases on the market today.
Please note I recommend purchasing iPhone cases on my Etsy shop if you're not a DIY type, as the color will last longer if first varnished. www.cwestbrookdesigns.etsy.com
My cases on Etsy cost a bit more and takes a bit longer but:
1. I (the designer herself) inspect each case individually and make fixes as necessary. ie. Sometimes the fit of the two case sides isn't quite right and I file down the edges, and on occasion the overall fit on the phone is a bit too loose (and very occasionally too tight).
2. I add 1-2 coats of clear varnish to make sure the color stays bright longer. Either way since it's an item used and held every day it wears much like leather does, but with varnish the wear is slower.
You can also varnish it yourself, extra clear coatings recommended for black, since the material is not polished. A non-toxic polyurethane varnish is what I use, applied with a wide flat paintbrush.
Note that detail level and texture can vary (a comparison photo above) depending on the direction the case is printed, which is not something that can be controlled due to the process. To REMOVE the Puzzle Case: Take the case off slowly, lifting one edge and the rest of that side with care, and then the front puzzle area, then slide each side off, it takes a minute, but that's the price of never having the case fall off when dropped! Please read the entire listing before purchase! This case is for the iPhone 5s and 5, the only difference from my original 5 cases (which are in most of the photos) is a larger area for the camera/light to accommodate the iPhone 5s light design update.
*Please note that I'm keeping the price of this listing somewhat lower than my Etsy case listings due to less selling fees on Shapeways and since I don't hand inspect, finish and varnish these pieces for extra color protection.
I do recommend at least one coat of varnish on colored pieces to keep the color longer. Shapeways new dyeing process does have more durable colors, but it is an item used multiple times a day. Also note that sometimes powder gets trapped in the details, and should be removed before varnishing.
Designed by C Westbrook Designs in San Francisco and produced by Shapeways.
This puzzle style case will fit the iPhone 5 AND 5s.
I have photos of the case in black. It will be a smoother surface in the polished colors. The texture tends to vary especially in black.
I've tried out multiple of these 3D prints on my iPhone 5 (which is the same size as the 5s), and it fits well. My case withstands my abuse very well (I even dropped it down two stories in a stairwell and only got a small dent), the color (after varnishing to protect it) wears much like leather. If the case is a tidbit loose (as printing tolerances vary) then just put a bit of varnish or glue in the bottom corners and let dry completely.
I designed it for easy access to all buttons, ports and controls. In the iPhone 5 version of my case I've designed the front to taper down into the screen area so that it's easier to swipe to the edges.
The colors available are what Shapeways currently offers.
*Only the cases I sell on my Etsy.com listings have a clear varnish added for extra protection of the color and are tried on my iPhone prior to shipment.
To avoid any confusion let me clarify that if you buy a case from this store you are ordering directly from Shapeways who manufactures / 3D prints it. I can not cancel or change any orders made from this site. If you ordered a case from this listing please contact email@example.com with any concerns that are unrelated to the design aspect.
