Product Description
Lamed is the twelfth letter of the hebrew alphabet.
Pronounciation: L
Example: lev, hearth
Lamed in gematria represents the number 30.
The letter lamed represents teaching, learning and intention.

In the alphabet, the letters bet and lamed forming the word lev, hearth, are preceded by the letters alef and kaf, which in their turn form the word ach, but. The term "but" generally indicates a limitation.
But the letters bet and lamed themselves are followed by the letters gimel and mem, which together form the word gam, also, a term that means an addition to what has just been said.
This confirms the saying of the wise: it doesn't matter if you do too little or too much, what matters is doing it with your hearth. (source: Berachot 5b)

Lamed, together with the letter vav, refers to the Lamedvavniks, the 36 righteous people who save the world from destruction.

As an abbreviation, lamed can stand for litre.

Also, a sign on a car with a lamed on it means that the driver is a student of driving (the lamed stands for lomed, learner).

Lamed, as a prefix, can have two purposes:
  • It can be attached to verb roots, designating the infinitive (Daber means "speak", Ledaber means to speak).
  • It can also act as a preposition meaning "to" or "for".

Lamed reaches higher than any of the other hebrew letters, its shape is an ondulating movement, representing constant change. Lamed is the lighting strike of energy descending down the two sides of the tree of life. This letter teaches us to learn from everything in life.

Below you can see the movie of the production process of a clay prototype of a hebrew letter.
