3788 Scale Hydran Iron Duke Heavy Carrier CVN

The Hydrans are an unusual species that live on the far side of the Klingon Empire, along the edge of the galaxy. They are enemies of the Klingons and Lyrans and were conquered by those empires at one point, only to drive the invaders out decades later. Hydrans breathe methane and live on cold type-S gas giants on silicate continents floating on liquid methane oceans.

The dreadnought Royal Sovereign (which would have been the fourth Paladin) was completed as a heavy carrier, rather than as a dreadnought. The ship entered service the year after the Federation’s Operation Hydra failed to reach Hydran space. As the new shipyard was not functioning until the following year, this ship was apparently built on an incomplete and “rescued” hull as was the Iron Chancellor, but the Old Colonies had geared up for wartime production and could provide the needed weapons. The ship could carry up to 24 fighters, making it deadly. Known names include Royal Sovereign and Ascendency.

This ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
