Building on the success of the original Tritium Hiker Indicator, the Tritium Marker R1 makes the most efficient use of material, providing a lighter product without sacrificing strength.
This iteration is ideal for "Molle" style systems, including PALS.
Photographed in a variety of Stainless Steel options, and with several other materials and finishes available, this is the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Simply slide it onto a 1" nylon strap and you're all set. You will need at least one 3mm x 22mm tritium vial (sold separately).
How to install your Tritium Vial
Installation is easy -- simply install your Tritium vial, taking care to center the vial in the grills, and apply glue to both ends of the Tritium Marker R1. Allow time to dry as directed by the glue you select. Two-part epoxy is recommended, however products like crazy glue should be sufficient.
How to attach to your nylon Molle / Pals strap
The Tritium Marker R1 simply slides over the straps of your Molle system.
About Tritium
Tritium is a low energy beta emitter. It is not dangerous externally (its beta particles are unable to penetrate the skin), but it is a radiation hazard when inhaled, ingested via food or water, or absorbed through the skin. Tritium has a short biological half-life in the human body of 7 to 14 days, which both reduces the total effects of single-incident ingestion and precludes accumulation of Tritium from the environment.
