1/350 scale Grumman J2f-3 'Duck'. For use with your favorite 1930s air wing!
This version includes wing braces. Owing to the limitations of 3d printing, these braces are thicker than scale.
The float braces are extremely delicate and rarely survive the printing process. I include a spare set of wing-floats as a result. Fine details actually printed very well in two test-prints, including the exhaust stubs!
*** UPDATED MODEL -- I've added an additional support structure under each wing and slightly thickened the cage structure. The cage protects the fine details (tail wheel, etc.) very well in shipping \ handeling. ***
*** PAINTING TIP -- I recommend cutting the upper part of the cage off, but leaving the plane secured to the base and with the tail protection while painting. This will protect the delicate tail wheel, arrestor hook, machine guns and exhuast stubs until you're ready to position the plane on your carrier. You'll also want to wash it with a mild detergent to get some of the wax residue off.
