Product Description

These have been in use on broad gauge trains, carrying steel coils on RCJF wagons to Hastings since the hot strip mill at Hastings was closed in 2011, replacing the transport of steel slabs. . The ROBX (aka ELX) wagons used to carry the slabs were cut down to become RCJF wagons with extra supports added beneath the cradles.

These cradles have also been used on standard gauge flat wagons, transporting the coils from Port Kembla to Melbourne where they get lifted by the biggest hook I've ever seen to transfer to the broad gauge trains.

These need to be made with frosted ultra detail plastic for the fine detail. They can be seen in a variety of colours including white, blue, yellow and dirty rusty colours.
