Product Description
"Printstrument" is a 3D musical toy for children, which, through a light and easy play, helps to give the child the first important steps in the world of music and rhythm. The ability to play a musical instrument positively affects people in a variety of ways, which is why it is very important from the very beginning to create a child's interest in music. Playing a musical instrument develops the child's hearing, the sense of rhythm, fantasy and creative potential, and improves motor skills.Every child is musical! The goal was to create a musical instrument, which, due to its relatively simple structure, geometric shape and wide availability, can provide widest range of possibilities for children's playing practice.''Printstrument'' was designed in such a way that the geometric shape is not only interesting and aesthetic, but also that it functions perfectly so it is easier for the child to grab the modules and put them together or separate them. This is ensured by strategically positioned cur out surfaces. In the final development stage the mouthpeace was developed with assistance of  Eduard Klint, the only certified Latvian Master in music instrument Craftsmanship. ''Printstrument'' consists of 25 different modules. Modules are divided into 3 groups:-sound creators;-sound changers;-shakers. Sound creators are the mouthpieces that are placed at the beginning of the instrument and as a connection to another module, thus forming up to several sounds simultaneously. It also gives the ability for several kids to play one instrument simultaneously.Sound changers are modules with or without holes that can change the length or width of the instrument which will affect the sound. The shakers are modules that are easy to fill with a variety of tiny materials or objects, creating additional sounds. Peas, grains, stones, balls, and so on can be used as a filling elements. The modules are interconnected and interchangeable. It provides the ability to create your own unique toy - a musical instrument with a unique sound possibilities. The awareness of being the designer and creating a musical instrument increases the interest of the child in music and creative self-discovery. The child learns how musical instruments can be assembled in different ways according to their abilities and desires. But the most important thing - the child learns how the sound is shaped and how musical instrument works! The instrument, consisting of short and narrow modules, produces a higher pitch sounds. Longer musical instrument, from longer and wider modules, produces much lower pitch sounds.Child who has just begun to get to know music can make a very simple music instrument that consists of only two modules. Understanding and seeing in practice how the instrument works, the child can gradually form an increasingly more complex instrument. For example, a long flute with an integrated shaker. When adding a shaker module and filling it with various materials, the sound of the instrument changes.Making and playing the musical instrument subconsciously teaches children to the tone height differences and relationships. While making these instruments the child will have a complete freedom of creating different sounds. ''Printstrument'' is built around an octagonal profile being geometrically simple, and aesthetically appealing. Geometry of instrument is such so the child will be able to easily grab the modules and put them together or separate. As well, this form provides excellent stability, so there is no need to worry about the instrument of tipping over and rolling off a higher surface, thus breaking.Eduard Klint, the only  Latvian certified instrument craftsman, was invited to the final sound development and improvement. "Printnstruments" is available for everyone! It does not need to be found in toy shops. You can buy this by purchasing 3D files from the Internet and ordering them to be printed by a 3D print company, such as "Shapeways".It is an opportunity for customers to choose an individual number, shape and color modules tailored to their needs and taste. If a module is lost when playing, there is no need to worry about it, since it is possible to print exactly the same module again, avoiding the purchase of a new complete set. Printstrument can now be printed in nylon material, but it can also be printed from other children-friendly materials such as ceramic, steel or wood. The greatest potential for this toy could be in the future when high-definition 3D printers would be available at kindergartens and schools to print different teaching materials and samples, including "Printstrument". Kindergartens would require only a couple of "Printstrument" kits, as each child can have a separate mouthpiece in order to comply with hygiene requirements.
