LNER Observation Coach
The train was formed of four two-car articulated units, with the 'beaver-tail' observation car added in summer.
In 1948 they were returned to service as general passenger stock, but they never ran as a full set again - the observation cars were transferred to the West Highland line in 1956.
In BR days the streamlined skirting was removed. They were again modified in 1959 with larger end windows to improve view, but possibly not as good looking.
Both observation cars still exist. One has been preserved in modified condition, the other in original .
Modified BR condition
Requires chassis, bogies, wheels etc and finishing off
Scale O (1/43.5, 7mm/ft)
