Product Description
These are replacement eyecup holder rings for the Docter 12.5mm UWA telescope eyepieces. When used with binocular telescopes or bino-viewers, the hard 90° edge of the original ring that covers the M48 treads can be uncomfortable for those like me who have deeply recessed eyes and/or a prodminate nose bridge :)

Since 3D printing is not accurate enough to allow for printing of fine threads, I have designed these to be press fitting. Do to tolerance variations, I cannot guarantee they will fit perfectly but the following should ensure correct fitting can be obtained:
  • If they are too tight, simply heat them in an oven at 60°C for 5 minutes. This will cause them to expand. Quickly place them over the M48 thread with the rubber eyecup still attached. Let them cool for a few minutes and then should fit nicely.
  • If they are too loose then simply coat the inside surface with cyanoacrylic glue (super glue) and let the glue dry throughly without mounting on the eyepiece. You may have to do this twice before they fit correctly as the first coat will be absorbed by the plastic and will not build up a layer.

NOTE: These are sold separately. If you have two eyepieces, you must order two pieces.
