3125 Scale Lyran Cave Lion Battleship (BB) CVN

The Lyrans are human-sized cats that bore a distinct similarity to Terran lynxes in both appearance and temperament. Bitter enemies of the Kzintis (tigermen eight feet tall), the Lyrans were staunch allies of the Klingons and enemies of the Hydrans as well. Like Kzintis, Lyrans were carnivores known to eat their captives on rare occasions. The Federation assigned each Lyran ship-type a "reporting name" to keep them separate. Lyrans were organized as a feudal society. Twenty-one counties each had a squadron of ships lead by a heavy cruiser; four dukes had dreadnoughts to lead the four fleets, while the king-emperor commanded from the capital.

The original Lyran catamaran (twin-hull) designs could be converted into larger trimaran ships, gaining 50% more combat power (and a third engine) by the addition of a larger center section. Their ships were also capable of being converted into a ship of double the original combat power by the addition of a massive center section with two extra engines. Thus, the Cave Lion battleship begins with a Tiger heavy cruiser, replacing the small command section in the center with a massive hull structure mounting six disruptors and other weapons. The Cave Lion was the equivalent of the Federation Mars-class and the Klingon B10. As time passed and enhancements were made, panels were added to reduce the changed signature.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
