Product Description
Recreate the audience's first sight of the Falcon in the first movie! Here's one of the scenic accessories you need to make a diorama of Docking Bay 9 4.

The part is scaled to 1:43 to match the De Agostini Falcon kit or the Master Replicas collectible.

This is a model of the angular pale blue box - maybe some kind of power supply? - that sits beneath the Falcon. It has two red lights on the top - quite possibly German-built Hella 2RL rotating beacons with the motors turned off.

The lamps are included with this model, but are separate components for ease of lighting. They're tucked away inside the body of the model, which is why there are two blank round holes on the top. (use the 3D view to look underneath the model to see them)

Be sure to mask off the beacons before painting the white enamelled ring at its base, and clear-coat the areas that are meant to be glass. Finish off the lights with a little transparent red paint.

Behind-the-scenes photos show that this box had a strange kind of rectangular exhaust pipe thingie protruding from the top back, but it's too small to 3D print properly, so I've had to approximate its appearance. The top deck of the box is never shown in the movie or in any photos, so again some conjecture was required. However the top handle is definitely visible in the film, as are the flat metal plate where I've put a control panel, and the sort of exhaust dome thing.

The height of the prop is very much a matter of guesswork. I've scaled it to just under a metre tall on the basis of a behind-the-scenes photo. It shows Harrison Ford leaning over it, and the top of the box seems to line up with his waist.

Please read the following if you're interested in this item.

These accurizing parts are not mass-market commercial products. I made them for my own use, and have put them here in case they're of interest to someone else. Possibly you, since you’re reading this.

These are components for the serious model maker who wants to build a more accurate miniature. They require finishing. If you don't want to trim, file, sand, and glue, then these aren't the parts you're looking for!

The parts are tiny, and easily broken. They push the limits of today's 3D printers. The detail in the digital previews is all there, but it won't always be visible at the miniscule sizes that this scale requires!
