This HO scale kit is is the Prince Edward Island Railway 25,000 gallon enclosed water tower. It is printed in FUD for fine detail definition and excellent surface quality.
The model is designed from the original PEIR drawings and photographs.
These tanks were built at Alberton, West Devon, Summerside, Hunter River, Mount Stewart, Morell, Harmony Jct., and Georgetown, PEI. Several served well past the gauge standardization.
This kit includes a one-part structure, with a detail kit including the spout, spout frame, counterweights, and valve actuator. These water towers would be a very tough scratchbuilding project due to the tapered tank and staves.
It is likely these tanks will be useful to modellers building free-lance model railroads as well as PEIR modellers.
