Product Description

This part allows you to securely mount a Dual XGPS 160 Bluetooth GPS module to a RAM Mount suction cup. Meant for higher-G situations where the standard anti-slip mount that comes with the GPS unit isn't good enough. Potential for use in cars (especially at track days, with applications like Harry's Laptimer), boats, and airplanes.

 

Designed to be used with a standard zip-tie to hold the GPS unit securely in place, it can also be used without the zip-tie. The USB charging port is accessible when the GPS unit is in the mount. 

 

Though I make no gaurantees about the strengh or safety of this mount for specific applications, I tested it using Simscale in a simulated 200G accident and found it strong enough to survive that. Testing was based on a frontal collision with the unit mounted to the windshield of my 1998 BMW M Roadster, using the material data from Shapeways.
