Federal Light Cruiser

The Federation of Man is a scattering of colonies out on the trailing fringes of human space. The Federal Navy is made up of hastily built rattletraps, built out of whatever parts happened to be at hand. This Light Cruiser is, like most Federal ships, unarmored, lightly shielded, heavily armed and startlingly fast, though due to serious power restrictions, it's never all of those things at the same time.
