Product Description

Based in Jambol (Bulgaria). Designed as Freight- and Trooptransport for German East African Troops. Mission was aborted after more than 6757 km flight. New Record in 95 hrs.. Destroyed under unknown Circumtances in Apr. 7 1918. 2 in Class.

Stationiert in Jambol (Bulgarien). Konstruiert als Fracht- und Truppentransporter, sollte insbesondere Nachschub für deutsche Truppen in Deutsch-Ostafrika liefern. Als das Schiff bereits Ägypten überquert hatte, erhielt das Schiff unter ungeklärten Umständen per Funk die Order zurückzukehren. Mit einer Marschleistung erreichte das Luftschiff bei diesem Einsatz einen neuen Langstreckenrekord: 6757 km in 95 Stunden und 5 Minuten. Stürzte aus ungeklärter Ursache am 7. April 1918 über der Straße von Otranto brennend ab. 2 Stück in dieser Klasse.
