Product Description
This is a clean, elegant bayonet mount hood for the RX1/RX1R/RX1R II cameras. Screw-in hoods for the RX1 are cheaply available, but neither aesthetically or functionally tailored to the camera. Existing bayonet-mount hoods are moderately-to-very expensive, and even then are not necessarily a perfect fit for the body of the RX1.
This hood addresses those issues as a sleek and minimal extension of the lens body itself. Visually consistent with the design language of the best Zeiss lenses, its precisely calculated baffles (only made feasible via 3D printing) reflect as much off-axis light as possible. This hood protects the lens while looking and working as if the entire camera were designed with it in mind.
The interior of the hood has clearance for a screw-in UV filter on the front of the lens if desired. I have designed it to closely fit the B+W XS-Pro Clear UV Haze filter, which is present in my photos of the hood. Other filters may or may not fit.
