The island of Rhodos was named after the goddes-nymph Rhode.
Others maintain that Rhodos was named after the rose, and this, either because the island was abundant in these beautiful flowers or because the ancient inhabitants likened its beauty to that of a rose.
Anyways, when you look closely you'll find the shape of a rosebud in this piece of jewelry.
When you are concidering a steel ring, I recommend to order a 1/2 size bigger than your normal ringsize.
Steel is less dimensionally accurate than other Shapeways materials, which means the ring shrinks in size (about 0,6mm in diameter) during production.
