This was the Japanese Navy's last biplane. Over 200 were built. They operated from carriers and land bases, carrying either bombs or a torpedo. Later nicknamed "Jean" by the Allies, B4Ys were involved in the infamous attack on the USS Panay. B4Ys served in the Second Sino-Japanese War and at Midway, taking photos. Many served as trainers after being replaced by the famous B5N "Kate" in first-line service. This model is a re-scale from our 1/285 B4Y, some parts have been modified to better fit the new scale.
