The SPAD 17 was the ultimate SPAD fighter. It was a development of the popular SPAD 13 designed for the new 300hp Hispano-Suiza 8Fb engine. The wings and fuselage were strengthened and the horizontal stabilizers had a rounded shape reminiscent of the SPAD 16 two-seater. In testing, the SPAD 17 was found to be marginally superior to the SPAD 13. A test batch of 20 SPAD 17's were built. In the last few months of the war, they were parceled out to the top pilots of Les Cicognes
This product comes in 1:144 and 1:285/6mm/1:288 scales. The 1:285 product contains two aeroplanes
and detachable propeller disks rather than propeller blades. They are joined by disposable links to keep the price down, since single-part models are more affordable. You can break the links with nail clippers, wire cutters, or similar.
