Chips Maker v1 hands on

Make fantastic fat free chips in your microwave!
Not long ago I bought a chips maker to try out making my own potato chips in the microwave. I was so happy being able to make my favorite TV snack by choosing my favorite potatoes and flavor.
Guess how disappointing it was to see the plastic parts melting in my microwave while trying it the first time! (Not to think of the poisoning fumes spoiling my chips! Disgusting!) I was sad and angry about the product I had spend my rare student money for!
But as a maker, a student of design and goldsmith I was not able to just forget about it!
I started to design my own product! And guess: Now I have my own ceramic version at home and I just love it!
It became my favorite kitchen tool within days. (Right after my Bialetti :) )
Now I enjoy my Bio-Fatfree-Chips with my favorite Frech sea salt or with herbs I found in Venice... In short: new worlds opened up for me.
And here is how to do it:
- Choose your favorite potatoes (not to small!) (...or vegetables...or fruits like apple!)
- Slice it into very thin pieces (mine are about 1mm)
- Put them upwards into the chips maker
- Microwave for about 3 to 5 minutes (depends on the microwave - of course)
- Let them cool down for a second and enjoy!
My favorite recipe:
Use big bio potatoes, keep the skin for more vitamins (!)
- Wash the potato slices to remove the potato starch
- Put them into sea salted water and let them soak for a minute before microwaving
- Add some herbs, pepper or paprika powder
- Yami!
