Product Description
So the F-82G variant of ModelCraft's 1/48 Twin Mustang series is pretty precious ($$$). And the other versions are much more readily available, and certainly a lot less expensive ($20 v $120). Furthermore, decals for the F-82G are also readily availble. So if you're like me, you want a F-82G but bought a F-82B becuase it's available...with that in mind, I've created the SCR-720 radar pod and flame suppressing exhaust to transform your F-82B into an F-82G...Nothing like a 461 mph night fighter!
These are to replace the very forgettable exhausts that comes with the Modelcraft kit of the F-82G Night Fighter Twin Mustang. Of course if you have Modelcraft's F-82B kit, naturally you have the standard exhausts and will need these to convert to F-82G psuedo-spec (you can't quite achieve it by swapping the exhausts and sticking on the radar pod, but you get closer. You'd also need to modify the carb inlet if memory serves me). My parts replicate the flame-dampening exhausts typically seen (though not always, apparently) on the night fighter variant. Admittedly my research came up somewhat short so don't buy these because they are ultra accurate; these are a visual improvement and based on what few images I could find (It would appear none of the existing airframes have the flame dampening exhaust stacks). However, if you come across any close up images feel free to contact me as I'm always in the market for improving my CAD models.
