Product Description
A general servo motor base for building a robotic arm or a turntable application. The base is designed to support the RioRand metal geared full sized servos, but will also support the Radioshack full servo.
The base can be mounted on a flat or vertical surface using the four peripheral mounting holes.
Two vertical slots are provided to route the servo cable and additional wiring out of the base. This standalone compact design does not come with any integrated placeholders to mount "a specific" kind of microcontroller therefore making it flexible enough to be used with any kind of electronics powertrain or computer.
Usage Hints:
The robot base has been originally designed for use with the RioRand MG995 Full Servo with an operating range of 180 degrees. This Servo will mount with a snug fit and only two screws may be adequate for a sound fit.
But this base also supports other servos from Parallax and RadioShack. But these servos are slightly smaller and will go in with a loose fit. Therefore, it's recommended to use four screws to ensure secure mounting.
The underside of the servo base has enough space to mount a small sized micro-controller such as a Arduino Nano or an ESP8266. The base can be used with micro-controllers with larger board dimensions such as the Arduino Uno or Mega. Two slots on either side can be used to route wires out of the base to hook up to the micro-controller and power supply.
