Product Description
Note: Just finished making some tweaks to improve the model. The bearings are more secure now, the frame more rigid, and the mounting points more useful.
A surprizingly solid lego compatible differential frame that I created out of a desire for high speed lego. It's intended to be light and versatile, so I don't recommend using it in a derby or rally, but that said, it should handle anything that lego's original version of this frame could. But with no more pins coming loose, no melting plastic from modified motors, and minimal rolling resistance in whatever configuration you decide. As with my other lego compatible parts, this could work with a couple sizes of bearings, simply make the request and give me ~1 week.
I do suggest using the R166zz standard, as their inner diameter of 3/16" fits lego axles beautifully. The 3/8" outer diameter also keeps the frame small, allowing a standard lego motor to feel right at home. Not to mention the thin profile of 1/8", which allows doubling up for a rigid drivetrain.
For bearing reference, I found this after a quick search for "R166zz": http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-PCS-R166ZZ-3-16-x-3-8-x-1-8-Double-Metal-Shielded-Ball-Bearing-/390615630660?hash=item5af2818344:g:c-8AAOxyqOxRxqjw
And this is only one source of the many available to you.

++ includes 2 connected bearing spacers to keep the optimum distance between each set
