Product Description

LNER Coronation Twin articulated coaches

D228 Twin Restaurant Third Brake - Brake Third + Kitchen Third

Original condition

The train was formed of four two-car articulated units, with the 'beaver-tail' observation car added in summer.

In 1948 they were returned to service as general passenger stock, but they never ran as a full set again - the observation cars were transferred to the West Highland line in 1956.

In BR days the steamlined skirting was removed. The observation cars were again modified in 1959 with larger end windows. Extra doors were added to some twin sets to improve access/exit, after a serious accident in 1951.

Requires chassis, bogies, wheels etc and finishing off

Scale Gauge One (1/32)
