Product Description
The Omega Octant is east of the Alpha Octant empires seen in the Star Fleet Universe (beyond the Inter-Stellar Concordium), on the other side of a galactic void. That void is a dead zone where life is impossible and ships fall apart, marking a separation between Octants. The Drex Unity is comprised of a series of intelligent robots, created by the walrus-like Drexari, who promptly gave up running their own civilization once they had the Drex to do everything for them. (There is no indication that the Drex have ever considered turning on their creators.) The Drex are strongly isolationist, only expanding when they deem it necessary to provide more living space for their Drexari masters. However, this did not prevent several other empires from going to war with the Drex. Drex ships are designed for a single purpose which, in the case of their main fleet, is war. They are controlled by advanced supercomputers, which the robotic Drex can interface with directly; this provides Drex warships with a number of advantages in battle. They are armed with wide-angle and particle phaser types, as well as light and heavy hypercannons.

The Drex Battlefrigate had a single heavy hypercannon on the prow, plus the same set of light hypercannons as the Battledestroyer. However, as with its larger stablemates, the widely spread firing arcs of its hypercannons meant that it had to rely on its supercomputer-assisted agility to make full use of them. In light of this, the relative lack of CPU space on the base hull was a critical shortcoming, which would encourage the Drex to later design a leader variant that corrected this deficiency.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
