Product Description
The Western Ten Ton was produced for two years in the early 1920s as an attempt to compete with the C.L. Best Company's extremely successful Best 60.
Utilizing an updated engine from the WW1-era Ten Ton combined with running gear adopted from the Forty Five h.p. crawler, the Western Ten Ton was an attempt at a smaller and more manueverable machine for agriculture and logging.
Competing with the Best 60 and all of the Holt 10 Ton tractors that became surplus after WW1, and thus sold for pennies on the dollar and were bought up by towns and cities everywhere, the Western 10 Ton never took off as a sales success and was soon discontinued.
The Western Ten Ton is an attractive machine that has almost disappeared from our historical memory. With only a two year production window and less than 300 machines produced in total, this machine has been all but forgotten. Save our heritage and buy it today!
