A pair of cufflinks inspired by the beautiful and ingenious —yet wrong— model of the Solar System by Johannes Kepler.
Kepler's Model puts the Sun in the center, while the planets orbit it in paths contained within spheres that circumscribe the five regular polyhedra. With the polyhedra ordered properly ( Octahedron - Icosahedron - Dodecahedron - Tetrahedron - Hexahedron), this arrangement provided 6 layers for the 6 known planets (Mercury - Venus - Earth - Mars - Jupiter - Saturn) to circle the Sun.
The model is based on the drawings from Mysterium Cosmographicum. Because of the size, the cufflinks show only the three outermost orbital layers (Dodecahedron - Tetrahedron - Hexahedron corresponding to Mars - Jupiter -Saturn), being the smallest polyhedron solid.
