Produced by Omen Industries, the Light Fighter entered production in 1873 and remained in production until nearly 1880. Several hundred were produced for a number of nations and mer-cenary groups, and they reached a price of only £562 by 1880. Modified versions were later sold to barnstormers and crop dusters, and the trademark silverized Omen canvas was a common sight around the world. Designed for short-range defense and forward deployment, the triplane wing arrangement allowed easy storage and a considerable amount of lift.
The fighter was designed by the legendary and enigmatic Dr. Omen in his isolated factory laboratory in a partially filled sinkhole.
