Cladonia is a lichen, a major source of food for reindeer and caribou. Lichens are found throughout the Northern hemisphere in woodlands, bogs, tundra, rocky outcrops and talus slopes. Ernst Haeckel drew several species of Cladonia, but this jewelry is modeled after his Cladonia cornucopiae. That it resembles a cornucopia is hard to miss.
All you need to do after purchasing Cladonia is to attach a jump ring and a chain, and you'll have a necklace that will fascinate the caribou. To purchase a pair of earrings, please see the "Cladonia earrings" in this shop.
Earring hooks, jump rings and chains are not provided by Shapeways.
