Product Description
The PZL-104 Wilga (Golden Oriole) is a Polish designed and built short-takeoff-and-landing (STOL) Civil Aviation utility aircraft manufactured by PZL "Warszawa-Okęcie". The PZL-104was designed for robust use in sports civil aviation, with a strong emphasis on [u]glider[/u]-towing and [u]parachute[/u] training. The initial prototype, Wilga Mark 1 variant was first flown on 24 April 1962, but significant design flaws resulted in major changes and the PZL-104 Wilga Mark 2 variant first flew on 1 August 1963 (on my fifth birthday). In the late 1990s the PZL-104MA Wilga 2000 was developed with Lycoming flat engines and improved aerodynamics.
This 1/144 scale model of the Wilga 2000 consists of 22 parts, including a detailed interior, a Hartzell scimitar propeller. The doors are designed to be displayed open, but may be modeled closed by cutting off the connecting tabs on the doors. A bashing tool is provided for those who wish to make their own cabin windows out of thin clear plastic. A decal sheet is also available upon request.
