Product Description
Proposed 1940 design for a US Navy "Flying Deck Cruiser" - basically a hybrid aircraft carrier-light cruiser. It was first proposed in the 1920s when funding for ships, particularly aircraft carriers, was hard to come by. Proposed again in 1940 but design was deemed not practical and was never built; especially with funding available for Yorktown class CV and Brooklyn class CL.

Model is in 1/1800 scale with the following dimensions: 108mm long, 16.5mm wide, 23mm tall.

Following are specifications of the design (mix of BuShip specifications and my analysis of design):

Speed: 33 knots [BuShips]
Range: 10,000 nm [BuShips]
3.6" belt armor [BuShips]

24x 20mm guns
Flight Deck Length: 400ft [BuShips]
Hanger space: 22,942  sq ft
