Product Description

1:144th scale Tatra T-148CL tanker. This is taken from my 1:300th scale version. It's been hollowed out further, extra curves added to the tank, some lines fined up, and some extra details added. Nonetheless it *is* based on a 1:300th model, so it's not as detailed as it could be. The photos is courtesy of Hans R Mattenberger, who ordered this model in WSF Polished, and appears rather better than default and only marginally cheaper WSF. Unfortunately, Shapeways will often reject orders done in "Polished", because some of the details might be polished away. In particular, many of the details you can see on this model, such as the window struts, are less than the 0.5 mm thick they recommend for "printed text", and yet they clearly have not been "polished away". Their policy seems a bit strange... Bottom line: I have no idea whether they will reject an order or not if you chose "polished". But if they DO reject it, you don't lose any money in the process, so that's more something for me to worry about than you... Naturally, the more expensive plastics, like Frosted Ultra Detail, will give even better results.
