3D printed in matte translucent plastic that showcases fine and intricate details.
For those modeling HO scale traction, these are HO scale bottle caps similar to the iconic Pepsi bottle caps seen on the Johnstown Traction Company streetcars. This set also includes a template disk which can be used to create a masking tape paint mask to paint the semicircular design on the ends of the cars. This set is included with the Johnstown car kit, but is sold here separately for those wishing to add these caps to thier fleets.
To use the template, place a piece of masking tape on a pane of glass (I use the glass from a discarded picture frame), place the template over the tape and trace around it with your xacto knife, then peel up the tape, apply it to your model, and spray the color when ready.
For the Pepsi decal, a google picture search for "Pepsi Bottle Cap Logo" will bring a bunch of photos of vintage pepsi caps. scale these and print them on a sheet of clear or white decal film so they are 9mm in diameter. This scaling can be done easily in PowerPoint. Be sure to paint these caps white before applying the decal.
Note the the advertising bottle caps on the Johnstown cars were of the "single dot" design, meaning between the words "pepsi" and "cola" there was only a single dot, where other versions had two dots.
Use solvaset or similar to get the edges of the decal to settle over the ridges on the edge of the caps then use gloss or dullcote spray to protect your decal.
