Omni Scale Andromedan Mobile Weapons Platforms SRZ

Andromedans are an aggressive empire from the M31 Andromedan Galaxy. Their technology is different from that of ships in our galaxy. They use tractor-repulsor beams to rip enemy ships apart, displacement devices to teleport their own ships or enemy ones, and weapons that are similar to a phaser-2. They do not use shields, but instead use power absorbers which capture the energy of enemy weapons and cycle it back into their own systems and weapons. Larger Andromedan ships (motherships) carry small frigate/destroyer sized ships internally and launch them as needed in combat.

Mobile Weapons Platforms (MWPs) are the Andromedan equivalent of the fighters, gunboats, and interceptors used by the various empires the Andromedans attacked. Their incorporation of power absorber panel technology made them very tough opponents for such small attrition units, and in numbers they could give a cruiser pause. They were not as fast as gunboats or interceptors, and were starved for power compared to larger Andromedan ships. They were also, once damaged, very fragile in combat. There were several types of MWPs, each configured for a specific role. The PA panels on MWPs were able to absorb damage from any direction due to the small size of the unit being protected. Any given Andromedan mothership might operate one or more of these units, replacing larger satellite ships with multiple mobile weapon platforms. No single mothership or base ever had more than a dozen MWPs. Bases sometimes had up to five MWPs, but this seems to have been dependent on the size of the base.

This tree of gunboats is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
