Product Description
I came across a math article that established an algorithm for drawing celtic knots with regular tessellations. What we are most familiar with is the celtic knot in Euclidean space, in which the algorithm provides three solutions. The author expanded the algorithm to hyperbolic space, in which there are infinite solutions, and mentioned in passing there were five solutions in spherical space. This is one of the spherical solutions illustrated with 1mm thick bands wrapped around a 1 inch diameter sphere. The band thickness and the hole size between bands were chosen per the design criteria for printed steel. There will be higher order solutions available in time.
