3D printed in white nylon plastic polished to reveal a smooth matte finish.
A smaller, more affordable version of the Big Triceratops Bust. This bust stands 75 mm tall, and has been hollowed at the bottom.
The Triceratops Bust is part one of a series of Dinosaur Skull Victoriana. Combining scans of period bust sculpture with scanned dinosaur skulls, the series is a meditation on the mass production of plaster busts of famous scientists and social innovators of the past, culture and fossilized morality. Add a bit of prehistoric bohemian flare to your desk!
I'm entering this model into the PrototypeToProduct contest because as you can see, the model I printed on my college's Makerbot Replicator 2X lacks half the detail of the model printed through Shapeways. I would love to be able to better replicate my test prints at home before uploading them to Shapeways; it would cut so much effort and time off my work process.
