The Danube Class Runabout is a highly modular small starship utilized by Starfleet. It can be equipped with various modules for different missions. Thus including an additional weapon or sensor pod on the top. Actually this pod was a trick by the production stuff to make them distinguishable on screen. If there were supposed to appear two Runabouts in the same scene, most of the time one of them was without and one with the pod. If there were three, again one was without a pod and the other two with it. But in this case the pods had differently colored front lights. So you can always tell apart the ships even between cuts. I followed this "rule" with this set. Two with a pod and one without.
