This pendant represents the number 17 in base 1 1/2 using the "
Exploding Dots" method developed by
James Tanton as part of the
Global Math Project, and is the perfect accessory for Global Math Week!
What makes 17 interesting is that it becomes a mathematical palindrome in base 1 1/2: it's the same forwards and backwards.
Note that this is a pendant only, and does not include a chain.
This model has a bigger ring for a chain, and should work with the cable chains available from Shapeways or other chains with a <3mm clasp. The version pictured in the hand is an older version with a smaller loop.
