Palm Rest with straight knurling designed for hand held shooting with (super) telephoto lenses which have extremely low tripod mount. Tilting movement of palm rest during manual focusing provides excellent comfort without spoiling function of lens supporting.
To use Tilting Palm Rest with manual focus telephoto lenses which have extremely low tripod mount, Plate of appropriate length for Tilting Palm Rest is necessary. Appropriate length of plate depends on the distance between focus ring and tripod mount of lens. In many cases, the 60mm Plate seems sufficient.
To use Tilting Palm Rest with Canon super telephoto lens (IS II), "Lens Ankle (Short)" and a plate of appropriate length for Tilting Palm Rest are necessary. The 90mm Plate is for 300mm F2.8 IS II. The 120mm Plate is for 400mm F2.8 IS II and others.
One M6x30mm screw is necessary to connect plate part and rest part. Shim rings are useful to get rid of graininess in tilt operation. If the Palm Rest tilts too much to hit the focus ring of lens, please insert one M3x8mm screw into one of two M3 threaded holes to restrict the tilt angle.
