Product Description
The Sentinel company built this class of shunter in the 1930s for industrial use, some of which are preserved today. Following their customary designs, the vertical boiler was located in the cab with central water tanks and a steam unit at the front end operating chain drive to the wheels.
This model originated as a jumbo-ised N Gauge engine, suitably altered to 00 operative tolerances and to fit proprietary parts (notably the wheelbase for motorising), enabling simple construction.
IMPORTANT: while most models available here have been pre-tested and known to work, this scratch-aid has not been printed/tested by myself, so while the measurements appear correct it is considered strictly experimental.
(Note: various materials are provided, however, WSF and BSF will require more preparation for smooth painting that FUD and FED.)
The following additional parts need to be sourced separately to complete (web links given as examples only):
Screw-fit coupling (best to just glue/pin – mounting point included on the tender):
Hornby Spares - Coupling Unit and Screws - A1X Terrier - Pack of 1

Optional additional details to scratchbuild (at the builder's discretion):
Buffers (locating holes provided)
Boiler (omitted to give access for adding weight)
Coal and crew
I hope you enjoy this unusual and eye-catching model.
