Warp Dynamics (Naval) WDF-78T Siren Medium Fighter

The Warp Dynamics WDF-78 Siren Medium Fighter has been one of the workhorses of SSA armed forces for nearly sixty years, dating back to the late 2280s. The fighter’s reliability, ease of modification, durability and excellent service history have cemented its longevity and made it one of the most widely-recognised fighters in SSA service.

The WDF-78T variant is the most recent upgrade. Advances in technology miniturisation have allowedthe vessel to replace the reliable but venerable WDD Halycon-503 engines with the smaller, but more powerful WDD Nirvana-575 engines, and a much welcome increase to the Siren’s shielding.The Siren’s traditional weaponry of four cannons is unchanged from the 78R, a quartet of the reliable Hyperstar Incorporated VTF-9 50mm Astroburster cannons, though the Siren’s twin torpedo tubes have been upgraded from carrying four of the older Ingram-Faust Starviper 2V warheads to a similar number of the improved Starviper 2X torpedoes.
