Rumpler G.II (various scales)

Operational experiments with the Rumpler G.I led to the more powerful Rumpler G.II. Most G.IIs saw service with Kagohl 2, wich served on the Eastern Front, in Bulgaria, and finally on the Western Front in October 1916.  Twenty-four were built, and they proved robust enough that none were shot down in combat.  The main changes to the G.II was the use of the larger 220hp Benz Bz.IV engines, a revised rudder, and propeller cutouts on the lower wing edges.

The last of the series was modified to use the 260hp Mercedes D.IVa, presaging the Rumpler G.III.

This product comes in both 1:144 and 1:285/6mm/1:288 scales.  The 1:285 product comes with two propeller disks rather than propeller blades, which are difficult to print at small scales.  The disks can be snapped off if you prefer.

DESIGNER NOTE:  Models at scales smaller than 1:144 may no longer be available.  Shapeways discontinued the material for which they were designed, and the newer materials require that each and every model be adjusted to thicken surfaces like wings.  If you are interested in a particular model in a small scale, please let me know and I will prioritize it higher in the queue.
