Product Description
Photos are for illustrational purposes. The log is not included and the model comes unpainted and unweathered. The photos show the 'kit' version of the model which is identical to this item except for the use of wood for the beams where this item is fully assembled and printed and only requires painting and weathering.

If you'd prefer to build your own, the kit version is available here, using actual wood: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/611315267/ho-scale-sawmill-kit

This is a No 8. Heavy sawmill or Hickory.  The No 8. was designed to meet the needs of those requiring the heaviest type of stationary mills for cutting large heavy timber. Suited with a 'Hercules' Feed system  which was both a belt and friction feed system.
The carriage is 20 feet long and 60 inches wide (in real scale) and build of 71/2 inch by 7/12 inch timbers, bolted and braced with six sets of trucks having 14 inch wheels and 21/4 inch steal axles with heavy adjustable self oiling boxes.
It is equiped with 3 head-blocks and heavy style bases.
The set works are double acting and the set shaft is arranged so as to insure accurate alignment of the head blocks.
The power receder is rapid and sufficiently powerful to move the heaviest lob back and forth and may also be used for pushing heavy cants on to the live rollers.

This is how the machine was advertised back in 1910  by  the American Sawmill Machinery Company from Hackettstown New Jersey. This model is as close as possible and within in the shapeways material limitations and in 1:87 scale.
Lots of detail has gone into every single piece, from the the carriage to the husk. If you notice something missing or incorrect please do let me know.

The model is complete except for the belt and the cable for cable drive system that is part of the carriage bed. For the belt you can use a double strip of painters tape. For the cable you can use sewing thread or other twisted thread/wire/fishing line to represent a twisted metal cable.

The model is attached with sprues that can be removed to detach the carriage, husk and carriage bed and arrange the set up in a way that fits your sawmill. The main saw husk will have a drive wheel that needs to go through the floor.

This model is fully assembled, none functional and part of a larger set of machinery for a sawmill I am designing.
