Product Description

My biggest (and best) sailing ship yet - well, not since 8 November, when I uploaded the Preussen, but this ship is still taller.  The term "man-of-war" was historically applied to any heavily-armed ship, but today, it is usually associated with massive fighting galleons.  This particular model has 82 guns, which would have been typical of a Dutch ship-of-the-line during the early 17th century.  The Flying Dutchman, the infamous ghost ship, is widely believed to be a ship of this type, though since the story originated in the 16th century, any ship called Flying Dutchman lost at the time was likely smaller.
