Eight HO scale draft gear boxes designed for Sergent Engineering Type E couplers with compatible shank.
This design has an elliptical coupler pivot pin, which allows for some twist and pitch movement of the coupler within the draft gear box. This design helps railcars equipped with Sergent Engineering couplers negotiate less-than-perfect trackwork. The spring included with the coupler returns the coupler to the proper orientation in the draft gear box without allowing any sagging or drooping action. It also provides some "cushioning action" when the car is struck during a coupling operation.
Assembly: place the coupler lid on the coupler shank and install coupler in draft gear box with spring. Align lid with draft gear box and slide into place. Secure to railcar using 2-56 or 1-72 screw with countersunk head.
