Product Description

4 pairs of live spring trucks used mostly under freight cars 1840-60. This is a stretched version of the T02 truck, with a 54" wheelbase, made for NEM standard large spoked wheels. Modeled after a probable B&O example, these were also common under European cars imported from the U.S. or patterned on American designs, such as those of the Wurttemburg Railways. Requires 33"-36" wheelsets with 24-25 mm (.980"-1.005") length axles. Open 8-spoked wheels are the closest to prototype, such as Brawa #2182.
Clean with alcohol before painting, acrylics preferred. See also HO T02, a 46" wheelbase truck for 28"-33" wheels.
Wicking in some thin CA glue will strengthen parts.
Because of their fine detail, Frosted Ultra Detail is the preferred material, others will show varying degrees of surface roughness. The strong flexible materials will be crude and may not even print because of the thin sections. WSF and WSFPolished will be rough and lack detail, WSF looks like 200 grit sandpaper.
