Product Description
This is an HO scale model of a Southern Railway bay window caboose, as built and later modified by Hayne Shop. The first of the cabooses were built in 1947, and were rebuilt starting in 1968.
Separate the floor from the body, roof walk, ladders, and smoke stack. Glue the smoke stack into the roof, using the spue to properly locate it in the hole. The roof walk and ladders can be installed if desired. The body has holes for wire grab irons, which the modeler will have to make and install. The body is designed to simply snap onto the floor, however gluing will result in a much stronger model.
Trucks and couplers are up to the modeler. The model is designed to accept either a Kadee #5 or an Accu-Mate Proto coupler box.
